Make Your Own Christmas Decoration, Bethesda
We’ll be giving you the opportunity to make your own Christmas decoration made out of w*ste!
Join us at Canolfan Cefnfaes to learn more about plastic, recycling and using our machines to shred, melt and reform plastic into something beautiful to take home.
Llanfairfechan Christmas Market
Whilst our elves are super busy in the workspace crafting products for our clients, we managed to find some time to get to Llanfairfechan Christmas Market where our Shower Combs, Coasters and 3D Christmas Trees were big hits!
Christmas Workshop, Plas Y Brenin
We were invited back to Plas Y Brenin following a well-received workshop at the SheClimbs event in August. At at time of significant consumerism we wanted to provide an experience where people could make their own Christmas decorations made out of w*ste material such as bottle caps and industry offcuts. We enjoyed being around other events such as Sip & Paint Workshops, Gingerbread Decorating
Climbing Taster Sessions and live festive music.
Christmas Workshop, Yr Orsaf
We were invited to Yr Orsaf in order to run a Christmas workshop where participants could recycle bottle tops into Christmas trees and then decorate them using other plastic w*ste such as plastic bags. It was great fun to see how each person decorated their tree getting creative with baubles and tinsel!
Ffiws Congl Meinciau
A double workshop at Congl Meinciau! We enjoyed delving into the waste hierarchy at this workshop with prompts from the group asking why recycling was so low down. This prompted discussion about the energy and time required into making and recycling products highlighting that the best option is to reduce what we need in the first place to save energy and materials in the first place before next re-using what products already exist before spending more time and energy to recycle them into something new at the end of their life.
The group particularly enjoyed using our Near Infra-Red scanner in conjuction with our Resin ID game to identify different types of plastics.
Ffiws Bala
Another half term event where we showcased what really happens to your recycling - what happens after it gets picked up outside your door? Where does it go?
As ever, people enjoyed choosing colours making their own product from recycled plastic using our extruder!
Waste to Wings @ Ffiws Tanio Bermo
A half term drop in workshop at FFIWS Tanio Bermo where we moulded birds from recycled materials, based off of Kiki’s murmuration project. People were invited to create a swallow using the extruder that would be later displayed together as part of an installation at a local forest school.

“I just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic day on Tuesday. We really appreciate your time, enthusiasm and the kit! Everyone had a great time”
Warws Werdd (Antur Waunfawr) FFIWS Workshop
Antur Waunfawr provides community-based work for people with learning disabilities and supports over 65 adults and employs more than 100 staff. Its mission combines sustainability with social inclusion through green projects like Caergylchu, Warws Werdd, and Beics Antur.
It was wonderful to provide a presentation and workshop in their FFIWS space looking into Resin ID codes, sorting bottle caps by type and colour before getting hands-on to shred and melt bottle caps into new products with our extruder.
Buttons Workshop with Snowdonia Gear Repair
A great collaboration with Snowdonia Gear Repair creating recycled plastic buttons using our portable benchtop recycling setup and then being shown how to sew said buttons onto garments from Rosanna.
With thanks to Menter Môn for making this workshop possible.
SheClimbs, Plas Y Brenin
We were invited to showcase ourselves at the SheClimbs event at Plas y Brenin. It was great to engage with lots of people and highlight the importance of recycling (and of course reducing and reusing where we can).
Plenty of happy climbers went away with a custom karabiner they got to make using our benchtop extruder.
Eisteddfod 2025
We'll be at this year's National Eisteddfod in Wrexham with live demonstrations of our plastic recycling and manufacturing process. Visitors can see how waste plastic transforms into beautiful, functional objects and take part in hands-on workshops. Come find us on the Maes to witness the journey from discarded plastic to finished treasures.
Ffiws Workshop, Bethesda
Our first event hosted at Canolfan Cefnfaes, Bethesda with a great turnout of people looking to find out more about Relic Plastic, the recycling system and the opportunity to make their own products out of plastic choosing from a phone stand, karabiner or book accessories.
Caergylchu, Caernarfon Waste Site Visit
An eye-opening insight into where our general waste and recyclables end up from Gwynedd and generally in North Wales.
The building was established in the 1970s and turned into a facility in 2007 which has meant work is not optimum with outdated equipment and space - something the council would love to upgrade but lack funding to do so.
We learnt that all general waste is sent to Energy from Waste (incineration) which happens in Deeside.
Glass gets sent to Yorkshire.
Plastic is baled and passed on to 3rd parties in England (approx 17T per week!).
One of the biggest issues they face are people incorrectly putting needles into their recycling creating a significant hazard for staff working at the site or batteries also incorrectly placed in recycling causing fires!
Sioe Dyffryn Ogwen
Partneriaeth Ogwen were kind enough to let us share a stall with them at Sioe Dyffryn Ogwen where we showed people what the recycling process actually is with plenty of children getting hands-on with our manual shredder!
Trash Free Trails, Capel Curig Clean
A soggy day out and about from Capel Curig collecting litter we found along the way. A highlight was an old glass bottle that would have been part of a Deposit Return Scheme - something the UK should expect to have implemented again in 2027! Can you imagine how long the bottle has been in the environment for?
Hongian Ffest
Our first event in Gogledd Cymru!
A small climbing festival based in Blaenau Ffestiniog where we gave people the opportunity to win a karabiner (not rated!) if they could shred a couple of spice jar caps using our (new) manual shredder. It was great to see so many people get involved and plenty of strong arms cranking the handle shredding plastic that we can later use in our workspace in Bethesda to make 100% recycled products.
